ALL THE TIME GREAT PATRIOTIC FILMS

Upkar : A film from the sixties highlighting the difference in values prevalent in the East and West.  The film was a huge hit.
 
Haqeeqat : This is a film written and directed by Chetan Anand about the true story of the Indo-China war. The film as well as the music was a huge hit.
 
Hindustan Ki Kasam: This is once again a war film by Chetan Anand based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The film did average business but it could not recreate the success of Haqeeqat.
 
Border: JP Dutta's film about the conflict between Indian and Pakistani soldiers along the border did fairly good business
 
Sarfarosh: this film by John Mathew Mathan is about an upright honest police officer and the difficulties he encounters in dealing with terrorists.
 
Shaheed: This film released in 1965 is based on the life of the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
 
Purab Aur Paschim: This film deals with the son of a freedom fighter who goes to Britain for further studies. Here he finds the NRI community trying to dissociate from their Indian identity so he tries to bring about a change in their attitude.
 
Gadaar: Ek Prem Katha: This film by Anil Sharma deals with the havoc created by the partition in the life of the common man.
 
Roti Kapada aur Makan: A young graduate struggles to find a job so that he can support his family. As he fails to find employment his fiancée also leaves him. The hero must decide whether he will continue on the path of honesty or choose an alternate lifestyle.
